The coast of Alghero

The surrounding nature also makes it a wonderful summer destination for anyone wishing to admire unspoiled scenery, such as that offered by the Capo Caccia promontory, with its famous cliff in the shape of a sleeping giant, which has become one of Alghero's symbols. The peculiar geological formation also makes the area very rich in caves and grottoes, much of which remains unexplored.

Right here are the beautiful and evocative Neptune's Grottoes, considered among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. They are accessible both by sea and by land via the famous Escala del Cabirol, with its 656 steps, and inside, they offer a panorama of marvellous halls and pools, stalactites and stalagmites of peculiar shapes.

On the eastern side, the Grotta dei Ricami (Cave of Embroideries) and the Grotta Verde (Green Cave) open up sheerly over the sea, offering a breathtaking spectacle. Furthermore, venturing towards the Fertilia area will lead you to Bombarde beach, one of the most beautiful on the Riviera and among the most loved and famous in Sardinia.
